The open webAPI is designed to improve the interaction of HAN with other content management systems, especially the OPAC catalog system, LinkOut (connecting articles with their full texts), and Discovery Services (multi-base search with links to full texts). Three interfaces are implemented: *Search for an e-journal within the HAN catalog with automatic redirection to the full text with the correct link. *Searching for an e-script in the HAN catalog displays additional information, such as permission settings, the number of available user licenses, etc.*An advanced interface with the ability to create a new e-script if the required e-script was not found. This can be used to automatically "save" HAN if an EZB connection is not available (e.g. for connections from abroad or for users in industry).
